Functioning of ministers comes under scanner at CM’s meet with MLAs

Jammu, Jul 1: As the authorities started preparations for the assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has geared up to strengthen the grassroots.
The leadership in all 10 districts of Jammu region has been told to get reactivated and show their presence on the ground so that better results are ensured in the upcoming Assembly elections.
On regular basis, the meetings are being convened to send a clear message to the leaders and workers at the ground level that it is the time to put all the efforts to repeat the performance which the saffron party had done in 2014 assembly elections.
Sources within the party said that it has been conveyed that it is time to get ready for the assembly elections and there should be no negligence on the part of leaders at the local level.
“All District Development Council members have been tasked to ensure whatever work they have started during their three-and-half-year period should get completed on the ground and people should be made aware about these works,” said a source.
After these directions, wherever the BJP has its DDC members and Chairpersons, they have started reviewing the works taken up during their tenure and different departments have been told to provide the status of these works.
“Recently a DDC chairman sought reports of all the works taken up since 2020 and list of completed works. There were directions to install signboards at all works mentioning the name of DDC members. Not only that, even the details of Prime Minister Awas Yojna (PMAY) cases are being collected so that it can be presented to the people that how many people have been benefited with the scheme launched by the BJP government,” said a government official.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders in Jammu have been told to review the performance of the party in assembly segments where they have got fewer votes as compared to Congress candidate during the recently concluded Parliamentary elections.
