Pulwama, Jul 6: In an effort to enhance the key indicators of development in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom Saturday launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan at the Aspirational Block Ichgoza.
Speaking at the event, the DC emphasized the significance of saturation of the key indicators under the Sampoornata Abhiyan for the comprehensive development of the district.
He further urged all the officers and officials to work in close coordination over the coming months to achieve and maintain 100% saturation of the program’s targets.
Earlier, the DC inspected the stalls set up by various departments, including health, education, RDD, ICDS, and others, which showcased the beneficiary schemes they operate for public welfare and engaged in a friendly tug of war activity. The event was marked by enthusiasm as the community came together to support the initiative.
Additionally, Dr. Basharat administered a pledge to the participants, emphasizing the commitment to work towards achieving saturation in all indicators of the Sampoornata Abhiyan and leading the block towards becoming a healthy, empowered, and prosperous community. The pledge aimed to transform the block from aspirational to inspirational.

The occasion was enlivened by skits, Nukad Natak, and colorful cultural programs presented by school children. Several speakers also addressed the gathering, discussing various aspects of the Aspirational Block initiative and raising awareness about its goals.
Additionally, four authorizations and soil cards were distributed among selected farmers. The event featured the Abhiyan Jyoti (Torch) and a selfie point to engage the community and promote the campaign.
Among others the event was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, besides district officers and residents of the area.
