Baramulla, Jul 18: Residents as well as the shopkeepers of Old Town Baramulla in north Kashmir on Thursday staged a protest against authorities, accusing them of subjecting the stakeholders to immense sufferings.
The protestors while raising slogans against the concerned department, blocked the road leading to Khadniyar, thus halting traffic movement for some time.
The protesters accused the authorities of neglecting them, alleging that they have been going through the worst due to dilapidated road conditions.
“Dilapidated road conditions are giving a tough experience to the residents as well as commuters. Despite multiple requests to the authorities for mending the vital road, nothing fruitful was witnessed on the ground. Our pleas have fallen into deaf ears,” the protestors said.
The protestors while demanding immediate renovation of this vital road, which connects Baramulla town with rest of the peripheral areas, urged the Lieutenant Governor led administration to look into the matter, so that it could give a sigh of relief to them.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla while visiting the protestors pacified them and assured them of needful at the earliest.
The ADC was accompanied by the Executive Engineer PMGSY, AEE and Naib Tehsildar besides, DO PP old town. (KNO)
