A decade of Digital India

With no let up in the persistent dry spell and no sight of any end to the prevailing weather conditions, the people in different parts of Kashmir are facing acute water scarcity as the ongoing dry spell in the Valley have led to the receding of water level in the river Jhelum and other tributaries as well. Such a situation has not been impacting the people of Kashmir, who are presently facing immense hardships for the want of adequate water supply, but the farmers, who need the water supply for irrigation and other purposes will also face the sufferings as well. However, at this juncture, people need to avoid the wastage of water in Kashmir and also should use it judiciously to avoid any further worse situation. One cannot even imagine the survival of humans without water, but the present scenario needs to be looked into seriously and those misusing the water should be dealt with strictly as per the law to avoid any further deterioration of the situation. It stands the responsibility of each and every individual to end the misuse of water as any further receding in the water levels can impact the electricity supply as well, besides leaving the people thirsty. Therefore, the people need to understand their role and must follow the directions passed by the concerned department in letter and spirit so that the situation is put under control amidst the prevailing heat wave. Saving water at this crucial juncture will ensure the safety of humans and also the crops and other things as well.
