Srinagar, Jul 27: Amidst the heatwave, the demand for mini battery-operated cooling fans has surged in Srinagar district.
These small devices operate on rechargeable batteries; have become essential for many residents seeking relief from the sweltering heat.
Mohsin, owner of IT Gadgets shop located in Srinagar’s bustling commercial hub, Lal Chowk, said that his entire stock of these fans has been sold out.
“We had about 1,000 to 1,500 pieces in the shop, and all have been sold. Currently, we are completely out of stock on these mini battery-operated cooling fans,” he said.
“These fans, equipped with 1800 mAh batteries, offer 4-5 hours of continuous operation, making them highly sought after during power outages and peak heat hours. The compact design and portable nature of the fans have further contributed to their popularity among the residents of Srinagar,” Mohsin added.
Other shop owners in Lal Chowk have echoed Mohsin’s experience, noting a significant increase in the demand not only for standalone mini cooling fans but also for mobile-operated mini fans. “These gadgets have become an essential purchase for many, providing much-needed relief from the rising temperatures,” they said.
As the summer heat shows no signs of abating, retailers are scrambling to restock their shelves to meet the ongoing demand. The sudden surge has highlighted the importance of these small yet efficient devices in combating the effects of the heat wave.
