DIG SKR Anantnag chairs security review meeting

Srinagar, Aug 5: Deputy Inspector General (DIG), South Kashmir Range (SKR) Anantnag, Javid Iqbal Matoo Monday chaired a security review meeting at the conference hall of DPL Kulgam.
The meeting was attended by 2 Sector Commander Ujroo, DIG CRFP, CO 34 RR, CO 18 Bn CRPF, CO 163 BN CRPF, CO 46 BN CRPF, Addl SP Kulgam, Addl SP NHW Qazigund and other senior officers of Kulgam police, Army and CRPF, a police spokesman said in a statement.
During the meeting, the officers discussed the recent security developments along with the current challenges including the measures to counter these challenges. DIG SKR emphasized the need to review and enhance the security plans and to design effective counter insurgency strategies for smooth and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming events.
SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal gave a detailed presentation regarding the security arrangements put in place for ongoing SANJY -2024, forthcoming Independence Day, anti-terrorist operation, Maintenance of L&O, measures taken to eradicate drug menace and other important issues.
DIG SKR also stressed the need to enhance the security of vulnerable targets and to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming events and directed the officers to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent any attempt to spread mis-information impacting public safety and order.
Later, DIG SKR Anantnag inspected the facilities available for officers and jawans at DPL Kulgam.
