Budgam, Aug 5: In the digital era, Samsan village in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district is still lacking mobile connectivity, thus simultaneously disconnecting the entire hamlet with the rest of the world.
Located around eight kilometres from district headquarter Budgam, Samsan village has not even witnessed the installation of the mobile towers, the locals said.
Locals said that the mobile phones have become a pivotal tool to stay connected with the people in the world.
Nonetheless, they said their village is still lacking this facility due to which they are facing tremendous hardships.
Majid Ahmad, a local resident, appealed to the administration to look into the matter and ensure mobile connectivity is made available in the village, saying that the student community has not been able to get education at par with the students from other localities and districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that recently a land was identified for the BSNL tower; however, the work has not been started in this regard.
Meanwhile, the locals also appealed to the administration to provide the basic network facility in their area as soon as possible.
