NIRF 2024 ranking: KU slips by 12 slots in top 100 university category

Srinagar, Aug 12: In National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 the results of which were released on Monday, rank of University of Kashmir (KU) has gone down by 12 slots.
Earlier in 2023, KU had figured at 33rd rank in the top 100 Universities category.
In NIRF 2024, from the top 100 in overall category, KU has figured at 69th rank while the University of Jammu (JU) has figured at rank 87.
Similarly, from top 100 universities, KU has figured at 45th rank and the JU has figured at 50th rank.
Likewise, in the top 50 State Public Universities category, KU has bagged Rank 14 and JU by 23rd rank respectively.
According to the NIRF ranking, no college from Jammu and Kashmir have figured in the top 100 Colleges category.
The NIRF 2024 ranking further reveals that no institution from the research has figured in the top 50 Research Institutions category.
From the top 100 in Engineering category, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu have bagged 62nd rank while National Institute of Technology Srinagar have been awarded with 79th rank.
The NIRF 2024 also said that Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIMJ) has been awarded with 42nd rank in top 100 in Management category.
It also said that no pharmaceutical institute from J&K has figured in the top 100 in Pharmacy. Similarly, from the top 40 in Architecture and Planning category, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra figured at rank 31.
However, from the top 40 in Dental category, no institute from Jammu and Kashmir has figured in the list.
According to the NIRF 2024 category, in the top 40 in Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Jammu have been awarded with 20th rank. (KNO)
