Exchange of fire between security forces, terrorists in Doda

Doda, Aug 13: Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, security forces were able to establish a contact with militants in the Shivgarh Dhar area of Assar in Doda district this evening.
The exchange of fire happened for five to six minutes after which there was a lull.
According to reports, security forces have maintained a high alert in the entire region including district Doda where since June this year terror activities are on the rise.
Intelligence sources said that around 7.12 pm Tuesday evening, acting on a specific input security forces were able to establish a contact with militants which led to exchange of fire. “There was no immediate loss of life or injury to either side. The search operation has been suspended for the night which will resume with the first light of the day on Wednesday,” said a source.
