Srinagar, Aug 13: A tragic incident occurred in the Takanwari Sangam area of Srinagar on late Monday night, resulting in the death of a Scooty driver. The victim, identified as Riyaz Salam Bhat, a resident of Shadipora village in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, lost his life after falling into an irrigation canal.
According to local residents, the Scooty driver lost balance while passing through a puddle and fell into the canal. Despite immediate efforts to rescue him, Riyaz succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. [KNT]
