Ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the people associated with different parties here have been switching to the other parties probably to get the mandate and contest in the upcoming polls, being held after 10 years in the newly carved Union Territory. The political situation is getting interesting with each passing day as the key players from different parties have been parting ways and joining other parties in a bid to get a mandate and contest the upcoming elections. Amidst the situation, the Congress top brass in New Delhi have planned their visit to Jammu and Kashmir, which is being seen as a major move towards the possible pre-poll alliance with the regional National Conference (NC) here ahead of the elections. However, both Congress and NC have kept their doors open for the dialogue to come up with a decision with regard to the pre-poll alliance. At this juncture, there are bleak chances for the pre-poll alliance between the parties, part of INDI Alliance as there has been no clear statements from them so far whether they have held any dialogue in this regard or not. As the poll dates are inching closer, the situation is getting more interesting with the parties witnessing new joining and exits as well. However, it would be interesting to see whether the two parties in alliance at the national level will enter into bonhomie ahead of the elections and announce their candidates by extending support to each other.
