Election Expenditure Observer reviews preparations for assembly polls in Kulgam

Kulgam, Aug 21: The Election Expenditure Observer for Kulgam district, Dasari Balaiah Wednesday chaired a meeting at the mini-secretariat in Kulgam to review preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections in all three constituencies of the District.
During the meeting, the ADDC and ADC briefed the Observer on the overall profile of the three Assembly constituencies and the measures taken to ensure a clean, free, and fair election process.
The Observer was apprised of the status of Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees, Trainings, Model Code of Conduct adherence, Expenditure Monitoring, and the functioning of the Control Room.
Dasari Balaiah stressed for sensitizing all political parties on expenditure related maintenance of records, and also instructed for keeping close watch by field teams on any illegal transaction of inducements and keeping track of social media, paid news, and proper maintenance of accounts of contesting candidates.
Election Expenditure Observer emphasized the importance of synergy among the expenditure monitoring teams and stressed strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines to maintain the integrity of the elections.
The Assembly Elections for all three constituencies are scheduled for September 18, 2024.
The Election Expenditure Observer’s review meeting aimed to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process in Kulgam district.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Deputy District Election Officer (Dy-DEO), Nodal officers, and other concerned officials.
