Ahead of polls, several leaders, switch, rejoin PDP to secure mandate

Srinagar, Sep 2: Ahead of the assembly elections, several political leaders in Kashmir have switched and joined different parties in order to get the mandate to contest the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
The leaders have disassociated themselves from the parties they were serving in the last few years and have either rejoined their parties or switched to others to secure the mandate.
In south Kashmir’s Pulwama, Syed Basheer has rejoined PDP and got a mandate from Rajpora constituency, which he had represented already.
Rafiq Ahmad Naik, son of former MLA Ali Mohammad Naik recently joined PDP to get the mandate besides Haroon Choudhary also joined PDP recently where he secured mandate of the party as well.
Dr Shabir Siddiqui from Pahalgam, who is also a relative of Mehbooba Mufti recently joined PDP and got a mandate there.
Mohammad Khursheed Alam after quitting Peoples Conference (PC) rejoined PDP and got a mandate while Sheikh Gowhar Ali, Aga Muntazir Mehdi, Syed Tajamul Islam and Advocate Guftar Chodhary got mandate in PDP.
Basharat Bhukari and Advocate Qamar Choudhary are also among the leaders, who secured the mandate in PDP.
Syed Jamaat Ali Shaheen from Kangan and Mohammad Ashraf Malik joined PDP recently and got tickets for their respective constituencies.
Haji Gh Ahmad Khan from Beerwah, Altaf Ahmad Malik from Rafiabad and Advocate Mir Azad Parwaz from Handwara have recently joined PDP and secured the mandate as well.
Those who have left the party for not getting mandate include Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Raja Waheed, Syed Bari Andrabi, Dr Harbaksh Singh, Abdul Qayoom Mir, Javid Rahim Bhat, Suhail Bhukhari, Tahir Syed and others.
