Srinagar, Sep 2: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman Tahir Syeed on Monday announced his resignation from the party, citing dissatisfaction with the party decisions.
Tahir who served the party for around a decade expressed his discontent with the party chiefs decision, which leads him to take the decision of quitting the party—ending a decade long relationship with the PDP.
In a resignation letter addressed to party chief, Mehbooba Mufti, Syeed stated that it was a great and learning experience to serve the party and the people.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I write this unpleasant letter of resignation from the post of Spokesperson and basic membership of the party”, it reads.
“Tere Badalne Ka Dukh Nahi Hai Mujhe – Mei Toh Mere Yaqeen Py Sharminda Hun”, Tahir wrote to Mufti.
It’s noteworthy that the development came quickly after the party announced to field senior party worker Mohammad Afzal Wani as its candidate for the Trehgam constituency in Kupwara district, of which Syeed was hopeful of contender.
