Srinagar, Sep 6: With the onset of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Hazratbal Shrine, along with other surrounding mosques and shrines in Srinagar, has started witnessing increased activity as devotees gather to offer prayers and observe religious functions.
Local shopkeepers near Hazratbal shrine have reported a rise in the number of visitors coming to these places of worship.
With the beginning of this spiritually significant month, devotees have flocked to the Hazratbal Shrine to attend special prayers.
A shopkeeper mentioned they are seeing more visitors with the start of this month, and business has improved, especially with people coming for prayers.
Abdul Majeed, a shopkeeper near the shrine, said, this is a very special time for them. “Coming here during Rabi-ul-Awwal fills my heart with peace and devotion, as I try to visit the shrine every Friday this month,” said Zubair, a visitor.
Similarly, mosques, and shopkeepers across the City have also reported an increase in participation, with people gathering for congregational prayers and charity distribution.
“I come to the mosque every day during Rabi-ul-Awwal to seek blessings. The sense of community and faith here is so powerful,” said another devotee, Zahid.
Meanwhile, wrapped in an aura of spirituality, the City has taken on a festive look. Both businessmen and worshippers have embraced the significance of this holy month.
It is worth mentioning, the Urs Mubarak at the Dargah Hazratbal would be celebrated on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which falls on 17th September this year.
