Jammu and Kashmir is all inching closer to the assembly elections after the gap of ten years, but it is for the first time that the candidates, who are relying on the elderly people, are now opting to meet with the youngsters to woo them towards their respective parties with regard to ensuring the massive participation of the people in this election. During the recently conducted Lok Sabha elections, the majority of the voters were falling under the age group of 18-39, which indicated how the youngsters had a say in electing their representatives across all the three constituencies of Kashmir division. The time has gone when the representatives were relying on the elderly people only as the youngsters for the first time are joining hands with the political groups in order to join the mainstream and ensure the win of their candidates in the assembly elections. With the joining of youngsters, the assembly elections are heading towards a massive and interesting showdown in all the constituencies across Jammu & Kashmir, especially in the Valley. The candidates are leaving no stone unturned in meeting the youngsters one by one to gather their support and attract them towards the policies and agendas of their respective parties. With such occurrences, it is expected that the youngsters will have a major say in the upcoming elections, slated to be held in three phases from September 18 and culminating with the counting of votes on October 08.
