Ganderbal, Sep 17: In a powerful display of strength and solidarity, Bashir Ahmad Mir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ganderbal Assembly Constituency, led a foot march through the main markets of the constituency.
The event underscored the growing support for the PDP as the Assembly elections draw near.
The demonstration attracted a large crowd, with participants waving PDP flags and chanting slogans in support of Bashir Mir and his party.
The rally, part of Mir’s election campaign, sought to engage young voters and first-time participants in the democratic process.
Addressing the gathering at Beehama Chowk, Mir emphasized the PDP’s increasing popularity in Ganderbal.
“The time has come to restore our dignity and rights through the transformative vision of our Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, who has tirelessly worked to bring development, security, and prosperity to every corner of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mir declared.
Speaking to reporters, Mir highlighted the importance of electing local candidates’ commitment to the development of Ganderbal. “Our main motive behind this march is to inspire the people of Ganderbal and urge them to vote for candidates who genuinely work for the welfare of our constituency,” he stated.
Mir also welcomed the participation of Jamaat-e-Islami in the electoral process, noting, “It is the beauty of democracy that diverse groups and voices can contest elections. This participation strengthens our democratic fabric.”
