Srinagar, Sep 26: Union Minister for Social Justice and Republican Party of India (RPI) leader, Ramdas Athawale, on Thursday alleged that the region’s past turmoil is squarely on the shoulders of the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, and Congress.
He further said over 90 per cent of terrorism has been eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370.
Athawale, while speaking to the media here in Srinagar, alleged that political parties like the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, and Congress are responsible for “destroying” Jammu and Kashmir while accusing them of “betraying” the people and promoting separatism.
“It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision that led to these developments,” said Athawale, adding that Jammu and Kashmir are now progressing with various developmental projects underway.
Athawale’s RPI, which is an ally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has fielded candidates in four constituencies in the Kashmir Valley: Rajpora, Baramulla, Sonawari, and Gulmarg. He said that if any of these candidates win, they will support the BJP government.
