Finally, the wait is over as the counting of votes is all set to take place today at every district for the 90 assembly segments that went to polls in three-phases from September 18, 2024 to October 01, 2024. On Tuesday, the picture will get clear whether the pollsters had made exact predictions or the loopholes would be witnessed like the previous 2024 Lok Sabha elections across India. The elections in Jammu and Kashmir have been held for the first time in the last one decade while the Union Territory was without an elected government for the past six years. However, as the exit polls have predicted hung assembly in Jammu and Kashmir, the pollsters have been giving an edge to National Conference and Congress, but the decks will be cleared today when the counting of votes will end. Ahead of the poll results, many political parties have claimed to emerge as the single-largest party while many of them have kept options open for the like-minded parties to form the next dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir. As the time for final verdict is inching closer, it would be interesting to see whether the parties will join hands or they fail to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir. It would be interesting to see whether Jammu and Kashmir would witness a grand alliance or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will join hands with independents and others to form the new government.
