Srinagar, Oct 15: The excitement in Srinagar has reached an all-time high as the city prepares to host the much-awaited final of the Legends League Cricket 2024.
On Wednesday, Konark Suryas Odisha will take on the Southern Superstars at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar at 7 pm, marking the culmination of an amazing tournament that has captivated cricket fans across the region and brought international cricket back to the valley after four decades.
According to reports, the locals, who have witnessed some amazing contests over the past few days, are now eagerly awaiting the grand finale. Bakshi Stadium, hosting such an event after four decades, has become a “hub of excitement” as both young and old people have come to the stadium in great numbers to see cricket legends take the field one last time before bidding farewell to the Kashmir Valley.
Ubaid Ahmad, a cricket enthusiast from Sonwar Srinagar, said he has seen legends play on TV, but watching them live here in Srinagar is something else. “It is not just a match for us, it is a celebration. This tournament has brought so much energy back to the city, and tomorrow’s final will be super exciting,” he said.
“This is more than just a game for us,” said Sahil, a young boy who has been following the tournament closely. The stadium has been full of families, kids, and cricket fans these days, and it’s an amazing thing,” he said, adding that tomorrow’s final is going to be a full-on energy show.
The final is set to be played between Konark Suryas Odisha and the Southern Superstars, and a large turnout of people is expected at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium tomorrow.
