The Srinagar City has been the most attractive place for the visitors from outside Jammu & Kashmir, especially those coming to this place from outside the country. But the shambles conditions of roads in the City areas are giving a bad impression to them with the locals castigating the government for pushing them to the wall. The potholed roads in City areas could land the people in trouble ahead when the snowfall would occur here as the winter season is approaching, but the concerned hardly bother to look into the possible sufferings of people as the officials have not bothered to at least repair the patched only till the season of macadamization arrives. Traveling through these routes has always landed the commuters in trouble, who now complain of back pain and also damage to their vehicles as well. However, there is hardly anyone at the helm, who could hear the pleas and cries of the common masses. The situation in the interior areas of Shehr-e-Khas is worsening, especially after the drainage work was done as the authorities after completing the work have never bothered to macadamize or repair the potholed roads till yet. One fails to understand the reasons for which an underground work is done. If the underground work is done, the roads are being left unattended for a long time, which gives tough time to the commuters. There are people who question the need for doing underground works when the government is later pushing them to the wall by failing to ensure the repairing of the roads. The concerned must look into the matter and ensure all the potholed interior roads across Srinagar are renovated and macadamized for the wellbeing of the people.
