Srinagar, Nov 4: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo Monday impressed upon the management of Sainik School Manasbal to improve upon the output of this prestigious school meant to prepare its students for top notch examinations like NDA, Civil Services and other reputed competitions held across the country.
These remarks were made by him while chairing the 38th Executive Committee Meeting of the School today here at Civil Secretariat.
Besides Principal Secretary, School Education Department, the meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary, Finance; Secretary, Planning; DC, Ganderbal; Principal, Sanik School Manasbal and representative from Sanik School Society and others.
Dulloo also took this occasion to emphasise upon the school administration to bring quality in teaching so as to improve the interest of students in Mathematics.
He directed for devising a strategy to retain most of its students passing the matriculation examination for higher classes and prepare them for bigger challenges in life especially joining the defence services of the country.
He also took note of the infrastructure facilities and teaching faculties available there. He exhorted upon the school administration to link the progression of teachers with that of the overall results of the students.
The Committee also consented for upgrading the infrastructure and directed the School Education Department to provide some human resources to meet the immediate teaching requirements of the school.
It was also resolved to bring further improvement in mess quality besides hostel infrastructure and other allied facilities.
The meeting was informed that the school is first of its kind residential school in the valley established back in the year 1981. It was given out that it has a capacity of 480 students and this year 1005 students appeared in the admission test for class 6th out of whom 68 students were selected.
The meeting also took cognizance of the board results of the classes 10th and 12th for last 10 years. It was revealed that out of the 2756 students who passed out from this school, 550 have become doctors, 305 Engineers, 18 Professors, 24 had joined Administrative Services, 25 Advocates, 21 are in Banking sector with 72 moved out of the country for extension of their careers.
