Kashmir has been witnessing a surge in the footfall of tourists for the last couple of years, which simultaneously help the people associated with the sector to earn their livelihood. But, with the increase in the footfall, the concerned officials have geared up to take necessary actions that could potentially help in bringing ease to the visitors at the renowned tourist destinations. In one such instance, the authorities at Doodhpathri areas have evacuated the tea sellers from different locations and have been asked to operate their units from a single spot near the toll post. However, the action initiated against them has ended up in the protest by the tea sellers, who demand the government to allow them to operate from their previous places. Since the footfall of the tourists at the picturesque place has been increasing with each passing day, it was imperative for the concerned authorities to evacuate the tea sellers after giving them a prior notification as their ongoing protest has been pushing the visitors to the wall, who couldn’t find the stalls during the harsh winter conditions to at least have a cup of tea and enjoy the scenic beauty of Kashmir. The government has now reportedly held a meeting with the aggrieved tea sellers. Therefore, the issue needs to be resolved at an earliest to ensure that the visitors will not be pushed to the wall and get these facilities in the chilling cold without any difficulty. Both the government as well as the stakeholders have the responsibility to make sure that the visitors will not face any inconvenience and enjoy their trip to the Valley with ease and calm.
