Keep Kashmir connected

There is no iota of doubt that the youngsters in Jammu and Kashmir are quite deserving and talented in the field of sports like the other parts of the country as the Union territory has witnessed a number of youth participating in different games at the national and international level, indicating their skills and other related things at par with the other youth. In this regard, the statement issued by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commending the youth from J&K for showcasing their talent is itself an admiration for the Union Territory. The statement claims that sports is a powerful tool for positive change and has always served as a bridge to connect people of different cultures and today, J&K is emerging as a hub of national and international sporting events. Our renewed thrust on state-of-the-art sports infrastructure and allied facilities and nurturing young talent have revolutionised the sports sector of J&K. The Lieutenant Governor has once again reiterated the commitment of the government to provide the platform and necessary handholding to the budding sportspersons of J&K. However, it needs to be understood that the talent cannot be showcased at the individual level only but the government has a huge role in this regard by providing all the facilities to the youngsters in this regard. It is important to have an adequate number of sports fields with full infrastructure, which would help the youngsters to flourish and shine in the future and represent the country at national and international events. It is important for the government to focus on augmenting the infrastructure at this juncture so that the sportsmen in Jammu and Kashmir would not be deprived of their rights and also help them in nurturing their talent to compete at all the platforms.
