Kupwara, Dec 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the preparations for conduct of Good Governance Week-2024.
The objective of the programme is taking administration to the doorsteps of the common people to strengthen good governance through inclusive and transparent service delivery.
The programme is also aimed at empowerment of rural citizens especially poor and underprivileged sections by prioritizing governance initiatives that address rural challenges such as lack of connectivity, slow service delivery and limited awareness.
On the occasion, DC stressed upon all the officers to work with added zeal and greater coordination to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the ‘Good Governance Week’ across the district. She directed them to ensure cent percent coverage of the targeted beneficiaries under different schemes of their respective departments.
The officers were also directed to ensure reduction of grievances lingering on different online portals to zero within a week’s time by providing quality resolution to these grievances. She also emphasized for disseminating good governance practices and success stories to encourage active public participation for their betterment and overall welfare.
It was given out in the meeting that special grievance redressal camps shall be conducted at tehsil, block and panchayat levels to redress the grievances and issues of the people at all levels. Besides, online grievances through various platforms including CDGRAMS and state portals will have to be redressed completely within a week’s time, thus reducing them to zero.
Meanwhile, a weekly plan has also been devised by the District Administration at Tehsil, Block and panchayat level across the district starting from December 19th to ensure outreach of the administration at the doorsteps of the common people especially living in far flung and hard to reach areas.
