Srinagar, Jan 7: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Tuesday said that Kashmir has been put on sale while the incumbent government is skipping the core issues.
Para said that the current government has got the big mandate and they will extend complete support to them if they will take any step for the welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Para said that Kashmir has been put on sale as the outsiders are studying in Medical colleges and other institutions in J&K while locals have been suffering to get the opportunity.
He said that his party isn’t against the reservation but there is a need for rationalization and land, jobs and other things must be kept for people of J&K only.
Para further stated that the National Conference has got votes for the restoration of special status of J&K but they talk about statehood only, adding that had PDP not brought the resolution for the resolution of special status, the government wouldn’t have even brought the weak resolution in this regard.
He said the current government must address the core issues like restoration of special status of J&K, reservation, prisoners, who are in jails across India, release of religious leaders, unemployment but as of now, it seems the NC led government is skipping these cores issues as the attachment of properties under UAPA and termination of employees continues.
“We will continue to raise these issues and remind NC on what issues they have got votes and what they are doing,” he said.
He said that it was Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who on fewer seats brought two countries closer by opening routes, adding that the future of J&K lies in opening borders and his party will continue to forward the mission and legacy of Late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
