ADGP Jammu reviews border management system, security scenario in Samba, Kathua

Jammu, Jan 13: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain conducted a comprehensive late night checking review of the present security and Border Management arrangements in Samba & Kathua districts.
Shiv Kumar DIG JSK Range, Shobit Saxena SSP Kathua, Virender Manhas SSP Samba and other officers were also present on the occasion.
During the checking, Anand Jain, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security throughout the area.
He directed all officers to remain extra vigilant and proactive in ensuring that the Republic day celebrations were conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
The ADGP highlighted the need for robust #coordination between different security agencies to address any potential challenges that may arise during the VVIP visit and Republic Day 2025.
Anand Jain reviewed the deployment plans and directed that additional forces be mobilized in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incidents. He also stressed the significance of intelligence gathering and timely sharing of information to prompt any security threats. He also reviewed the performance of the on ground duties of the Jawans and boosted up their morale.
The ADGP took a review of the overall law and order situation and reviewed the readiness of the police force in terms of manpower, logistics, and resources. He instructed the officers to maintain high visibility in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that security checks and patrols are intensified.
He also checked the joint Naka of BSF and Border Police Posts and advised the officers to enhanced them. During his review he checked Sherpur Nala, Babbar Nala, Mawa, Nandpur etc.
Anand Jain also underscored the importance of community engagement and building trust between the police and the public. DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar IPS urged officers to engage with communities and ensure their cooperation in maintaining law and order if and when any critical situation may arise.
The checking focused on the security arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Republic Day/VVIP visit. The ADGP sought inputs from the officers and planning to ensure safe and secure Republic Day 2025 celebrations, the statement reads.
DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar briefed the ADGP Jammu Zone about the present security scenario and measures taken for maintaining peace and law & order in JSK Range. (KNO)
