DC Ganderbal reviews functioning of Revenue department

Ganderbal, Feb 1: The newly posted Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Revenue Department to assess its overall functioning here in the DC Office.
During the meeting, the DC conducted a detailed review of various matters related to the Revenue Department. Key areas discussed included progress under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), land acquisition cases for developmental projects, migrant land issues, pending court cases, land encroachment and online service pendency.
The DC emphasized the importance of timely and efficient service delivery and urged all officials to expedite the resolution of pending issues to enhance transparency and public trust in the Revenue Department.
He also emphasized strengthening coordination among various sections of the departments to meet the targets and streamline revenue-related services for the benefit of the public.
Emphasizing the importance of digitization, the DC directed officials to expedite the completion of pending villages to ensure 100% digitization of land records at the earliest.
On the issue of land encroachment, the DC instructed Tehsildars to remain vigilant, conduct regular field visits, and take necessary action to prevent any unauthorized occupation of government land.
The DC also directed officials to facilitate the timely release of rent to landowners whose land is under the occupation of defense agencies.
While interacting with the officers, the DC stressed the need to address public concerns efficiently and ensure the seamless delivery of services.
Regarding the issuance of certificates/legal documents, the DC emphasized the importance of thorough verification to maintain transparency and accuracy in the process.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Kangan, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other concerned officials.
