Govt must fulfil promises

The protests, strikes and marches have failed to bring a positive outcome for the thousands of casual labourers and daily wagers as their demands of regularization have not met despite the promises by the successive regimes so far from time to time. Yet again, the protests continue in Srinagar and elsewhere for job security by the casual labourers and daily wagers, who are working with dedication and are known as the backbone of the government departments. However, for years, these individuals have been subjected to uncertain working conditions, inadequate pay, and a lack of job security. Despite their long-standing contributions to various government departments, these workers continue to live in limbo, waiting for the day when they will be recognized as permanent employees and entitled to the benefits that come with regularized employment. Casual labourers and daily wagers, many of whom have served the government for years, often find themselves caught in a cycle of temporary contracts, with no clear path to regularization. The promises made by successive governments to address this issue have remained largely unfulfilled. Successive administrations have spoken of reforms, but little tangible progress has been made in securing the future of these workers. Now, with growing discontent and frustration among this workforce, the question that looms large is: How long will they have to wait for the regularization of their services? It is high time for the government to answer these individuals for this query and ensure there is no delay in regularization of their duties, which they have been promised and which they deserve as well.
