Srinagar, Feb 18: The security forces on Tuesday averted major tragedies after two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered and destroyed in South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts on Tuesday.
An official said that an IED weighing around 7 kgs was found fitted in a pressure cooker by the security forces at Kashwa Chitragam in Zainapora Sub division.
Soon, the area was cordoned and the bomb disposal squad was called and the IED was safely defused, he said.
He said that later an IED fitted in a pressure cooker was also found at Pinglish Nagwadi following which security forces promptly cordoned off the area.
He said that the bomb disposal squad was called who destroyed it.
The official said that investigation in both cases has been taken up and involved persons will face action. (KNO)
