Srinagar, Feb 27: Police in Handwara have seized properties worth several lakhs belonging to two militant handlers based in Pakistan, following an attachment order from the Additional Sessions Court, Handwara.
The confiscated assets include 3 kanals and 12 marlas of land owned by Tahir Ahmad Peer, son of Shamus-ud-din Peer, from Badrah Bala Qaziabad, and Mohd Ramzan Ganie, son of Mohd Abdullah Ganie, from Ganapora Qaziabad.
As per police officials, the action was taken under Section 88 CrPC (83 Central) in connection with FIR No. 73/2011, registered under Sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act and 121A RPC at Police Station Kralgund. The properties were identified as belonging to absconders during the investigation. [KNT]
