Srinagar, Feb 27: Amid inclement weather, the government is likely to extend winter vacation for schools till March 5 in the Kashmir division.
Education Minister, Sakeena Itoo said that the government will hold a meeting in this regard tomorrow.
“Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, we are going to hold a meeting tomorrow regarding the extension of winter vacations for schools in Kashmir division,” Itoo said.
The minister further said keeping in view the health and safety of students, they will take a decision accordingly
“If weather conditions do not improve, we may consider five days extension in vacation for primary level classes and in case there is more snowfall, we will consider extending the vacation till March 5 for all classes,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) official said that there is no change in exams slated for Friday.

Winter vacations for Classes upto 5th primary were announced from December-10-2024 to February 28, 2025.
Similarly for the 6th standard to 12th standard, the vacations were announced from December 16 to February 28, 2025.
