Jammu, Mar 10: The government on Monday clarified that the roads connecting Tral-Wahab Sahab and Tral-Pahalgam have not yet been sanctioned under any scheme.
Responding to a question from MLA Tral Ahmad Naik, the Minister for R&B, said the road from Pastuna to Wahab Sahab has not been approved under any departmental scheme so far.
However, the Tral to Bathnoor road has been sanctioned under the PMGSY-III Programme, with ongoing work showing an overall physical progress of about 50%, he said.
The remaining work, mainly macadamisation, will be completed as soon as temperature conditions allow, the minister said, adding that the habitation of Bugmud, which remains unconnected, has been proposed under PMGSY-IV, pending approval from the National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (MoRD, Government of India).
He added that the Bathnoor to Pahalgam road has not been sanctioned under any departmental programme.
Replying to another query from MLA Rajpora Gh Mohiuddin Mir, the R&B Minister said that no public demand had been received for constructing the road from Inderwal to Shidak Astan Shareef in Sangarwani. However, this demand was recently raised by the MLA.
The shrine of Sayyid Jahanbaz Balki, located at Shidak Sangarwani in Pulwama district, is a revered spiritual site. The shrine is approximately 8-9 kilometers from Inderwali Sangarwani and holds significant religious and historical value for the local community. Shidak is a high-altitude meadow known for its lush green pastures and breathtaking landscapes.
The minister said that constructing a road to Shidak Ziyarat Shareef would primarily pass through forest areas, which necessitates forest clearance as per regulatory guidelines. The government is currently examining the feasibility of this project, he said. (KNO)
