New Delhi, Mar 11: The Government of India on Tuesday reiterated its commitment to make Jammu & Kashmir terror-free by eliminating terror networks, dismantling financing mechanisms and preventing infiltration,
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, outlined key measures proposed in the Budget to enhance internal security, including steps specifically focused on J&K.
“The government plans to modernize law enforcement by integrating new criminal laws into a digital system, enhancing crime prevention, and improving criminal investigations. Also, mobile forensic labs will be deployed in every district, and state forensic labs will be modernized to strengthen evidence-based policing,” the reply stated.
“To bolster cyber security, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) will be expanded, along with cyber fraud mitigation centres and a National Cyber Threat Intelligence system to counter digital threats,” it added.
“Border security is also a key focus, with plans for technological upgrades, including drone surveillance, advanced monitoring systems, and fencing along vulnerable border areas to curb infiltration. These measures, as part of a multi-pronged national security strategy, aim to enhance law enforcement capabilities and ensure long-term stability in J&K,” the reply said. (KNO)
