Srinagar, Mar 18: Addressing a large gathering held at the historic Aali Masjid Eidgah Srinagar after a gap of 7 years on the occasion of Youm-e-Badr, Mirwaiz-e-e-Kashmir Dr. Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq Tuesday paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Islam’s first battle between truth and falsehood, the Battle of Badr, honoring their unparalleled sacrifices and martyrdom.
In a statement, he emphasized that this battle not only paved the way for the propagation and spread of Islam but significantly eased the path for future preaching of the faith under the resolute leadership of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
On this occasion of the 58th death anniversary of renowned Islamic scholar and political leader Mufassir-e-Quran, Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molana Muhammad Yousuf Shah was also observed, Mirwaiz paid heartfelt tributes acknowledging his extraordinary services to his people and nation.
He highlighted that despite facing challenging conditions and experiencing migration and exile, the late leader remained steadfast in his fundamental principles.
Mirwaiz Umar further mentioned that besides the exceptional religious, social, and community services rendered by the late leader, his most lasting and significant achievement, destined to benefit generations to come, was his accessible translation and interpretation of the Holy Quran in his mother tongue, Kashmiri, which Allah Almighty has blessed with great acceptance and popularity.
He announced that the Mirwaiz Foundation is rapidly working on developing a mobile App version of the late Mirwaiz Kashmir’s celebrated Quranic exegesis, Bayan-ul-Furqan, tailored to contemporary needs. This App, particularly designed to attract the young generation, will also play a crucial role in connecting them with their mother tongue, Kashmiri.
Prominent religious scholars and spiritual leaders from the valley, including Molana Shaukat Hussain Keng, Molana Khursheed Ahmed Qanoongo, Molana M.S. Rahman Shams, Peerzada Ghulam Nabi Shah, and Rafiq Ahmad Zargar, among others, spoke extensively on the life and contributions of Muhajir-e-Millat, describing him as a patron and benefactor of Kashmiris.
