Trying my best to bring progress in every area: CM

Srinagar, Apr 4: Top leaders from the alliance, including Congress, on Friday skipped the crucial meeting called by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
It was reported on Thursday that the two leaders including Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief, Tariq Hameed Karra and senior Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir would skip “emergency meeting” of legislators from the ruling alliance called by the Chief Minister in Srinagar.
Senior Congress leader Nizam-ud-din Bhat while talking to the reporters here said that the two leaders couldn’t attend the meeting due to prior commitments in New Delhi.
Moreover, MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami also skipped the meeting due to prior commitments in Tamil Nadu, sources said.
Pertinently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a crucial meeting at Deputy Chief Minister’s official residence at Fairview, Gupkar, Srinagar in which around 46 MLAs participated wherein two resolutions were passed—one condemning the passage of the Waqf Bill in Parliament and the other urging the Union government to respect the people’s mandate in the Union Territory.
