Srinagar, Apr 21: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday nominated Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) as district officers to implement provisions of the sexual harassment of women at workplaces.
According to an order, the nominated officer’s will exercise powers and discharge duties under section 5 of chapter III of Sexual Harassment of Women at workplace (prevention, prohibition and redressal) Act, 2013.
The initiative is expected to ensure prompt redressal of complaints and a safe work environment for women.
Notably, the government earlier outlined its efforts to tackle sexual harassment in workplaces, following a query from MLA Ranbir Singh Pathania in the Legislative Assembly. (KNO)
