Srinagar, May 22: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, emphasized that nurturing humanity, promoting brotherhood, and upholding justice are the pressing necessities of our time.
While speaking to party members at the Nawa-e-Subha headquarters in Srinagar, he emphasized that National Conference is far more than just a political entity aiming to win public support for governance, administration, and implementing developmental agendas. Since its establishment, he highlighted, the National Conference has been a guiding force for society, striving to combat social evils and promote values of humanity, unity, and justice.
“It is essential for our team to persist in promoting values such as brotherhood, unity, equality, justice, and humility. We must also speak out against issues like domestic violence, dowry, excessive spending, and drug addiction, both at home and in our workplaces. Practicing what we preach is crucial. By embodying these principles, we can create a more supportive and just environment for everyone. Let’s commit to being advocates for positive change and ensure that our actions reflect the teachings we uphold,” he said.
Meantime Senior party leaders and former ministers, including Khalid Najeeb Sarowardi, Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, and Abdul Gani Malik from the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley, met JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah today at the party headquarters, Nawa-i-Subh.
The leaders discussed party affairs concerning the Jammu division and brought to light the issues and hardships faced by the people of the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley. Provincial President Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir was also present on the occasion.
Additionally, a delegation of party workers and functionaries from the Bijbehara constituency, led by Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, also called on the party president.
