Ganderbal, Jul 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, Monday convened a meeting to review the functioning and service delivery of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) operating across the district.
At the outset, Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Ganderbal briefed the meeting about the operational status of KKGs, including their registration on the CSC portal, creation of login IDs, and issuance of seed and pesticide licenses to KKG holders.
Addressing the meeting, DC highlighted the pivotal role of Kisan Khidmat Ghars in bridging the gap between farmers and various agricultural schemes and services. He stressed the need for strengthening these grassroots institutions to ensure timely and efficient delivery of farmer-centric initiatives.
He directed the District Nodal Officer CSC to expedite the registration of all KKGs on the CSC portal to enhance accessibility and streamline services.
He also directed the CAO to regularly monitor the functioning of KKGs to ensure effective dissemination of information, prompt service delivery, and continuous handholding support to the farming community.
Emphasizing sustainable agricultural development, DC impressed upon the Agriculture and allied departments to focus on capacity building, promotion of technology adoption, and implementation of income-generating models to uplift the livelihood of farmers.
Meanwhile, DC reviewed the status of KCC and stressed the need to cover all eligible farmers under the scheme to boost agricultural productivity and reduce dependence on informal credit sources.
He directed the Agriculture and allied departments to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level and facilitate door-to-door mobilization drives to ensure no eligible farmer is left out.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, LDM and other concerned officials.
