Dy CM reviews progress on PWD works in Nowshera constituency

Srinagar, Aug 11: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary Monday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the physical and financial progress on developmental works being executed by PWD (R&B) in Nowshera constituency of district Rajouri under different components.
The meeting focused on evaluating the progress and impact of ongoing projects in the constituency being executed under PWD and PMGSY schemes.
During the review, the Dy CM, who is also the MLA from Nowshera constituency, had a comprehensive assessment of various aspects of the R&B sector including implementation of various projects under UT Capex, City and Town, NABARD SAMAGRA, PMGSY and allied programmes.
The Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Zone Pir Panjal apprised the Deputy Chief Minister regarding the ongoing and new projects under execution.
He informed that under UT Capex there are 38 roads with and estimated cost of over Rs 73.49 crore and 6 Bridges with estimated cost of over Rs 18.34 crore. He further informed that under C&T component there are 36 ongoing projects with an estimated cost of over Rs 4.66 crore and 52 new projects with Rs 12.74 crore allocated budget.
He informed that there are 21 works under NABARD and 44 works under Samagra with an estimated cost over Rs 80.15 crore and Rs 8.60 crore, respectively.
While taking a detailed review, Surinder Choudhary emphasized transparency and accountability as central principles in R&B sector projects. He laid stress on convergence with other departments in building community developmental assets.
The Dy CM directed to complete all the works during this financial year, especially Kallar- Potha bridge and Chakli Bagla bridge which will benefit scores of local people after completion.
Highlighting the importance of PMGSY in socio-economic empowerment of rural areas, the DyCM directed the Chief Engineer to prepare DPR of minimum 50 roads for projection under PMGSY-4 Phase II. He exhorted upon the concerned officers to facilitate smooth and effective execution of all development works being done under this ambitious scheme.
Choudhary directed the CE to focus on completion of pending works besides expediting the tendering process and monitoring of departmental works on regular basis.
The Dy CM directed the Executive Engineers to expedite the progress on all works ensuring their timely completion, maintaining all prescribed quality standards. He asked them to follow the work completion deadlines so that the vital projects are dedicated to the public in time.
