260 new cases approved under Mission YUVA in Budgam

Budgam, Aug 19: A detailed review meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA was Tuesday held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, at the Conference Hall of the DC office complex Budgam.
The meeting was convened to evaluate, screen and approve applications, monitor the progress of the scheme, and to devise strategies for ensuring its effective implementation across the district.
During the meeting, DC was apprised about the latest progress of the scheme.
As per the data shared total applications submitted include 1501, out of which applications pending with SBDUs are 1115, applications verified by SBDUs are 386, applications approved earlier by DLIC are 206, and applications sanctioned by banks are 61, besides applications disbursed by banks are 13.
In today’s meeting, 260 new cases were discussed and approved for financial assistance under Mission YUVA.
On the occasion, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the applicants were carefully scrutinized before approval, with emphasis laid on proper verification at the SBDU level prior to their placement before the DLIC.
The chair was further informed that as per Baseline Survey Data, a total of 1,35,314 households were surveyed, out of which there are 4,952 Potential Entrepreneur Youth Registered (PEUR), and 31,378 Potential Entrepreneurs were identified across the district.
In the meeting, DC stressed the importance of Mission YUVA as a transformative platform for youth empowerment and employment generation. He directed all line departments, banks, and associated agencies to work in close coordination to ensure smooth processing of cases and timely disbursement of financial assistance to beneficiaries.
He underlined that the scheme has the potential to transform Budgam into a hub of young entrepreneurs, and urged officers to set clear field-level targets, strengthen verification, and maintain transparency in the entire process. He further directed that weekly progress monitoring be undertaken so that genuine and deserving youth are not left behind due to delays.
DC reiterated that district administration is committed towards facilitating self-employment opportunities and ensuring that Budgam becomes a leading district in the successful implementation of Mission YUVA.
The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC Budgam, Chief Planning Officer Budgam, Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam, District Officer NABARD, Deputy Director DE&CC Budgam, Lead Bank Manager, DSWO, Cluster Head J&K Bank, DNO JKEDI Budgam and other concerned officers.
