Javid Dar addresses ONE Health Conference at SKUAST-K

Srinagar, Nov 15: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Elections Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar addressed the ONE Health Conference, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association-Kashmir (JKVDA-K) at SKUAST-K here Saturday.
Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Director SKIMS, Director of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments, eminent scientists, researchers, academics, members from the veterinary fraternity and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Javid Dar emphasized on the collective responsibility of different departments and stakeholders to work together to achieve the One Health Objective. “We must come together to address the pressing issues of human, animal, and environmental health,” he stated.
Chairman One Health Conference. Dr Syed Altaf Gilani and President JKVDA-K Dr Riyaz Nazir Reshi also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the significance the event. They emphasized the imperative need for close coordination among departments to achieve the shared objectives.
The conference provided a platform for eminent scientists, researchers, academics and members from the veterinary fraternity to share their collective vision for collaboration to protect Human, Animal and Environmental Health.
The conference featured a series of insightful presentations and a panel discussion on the concept of One Health, highlighting the need for collaboration and support in dealing with pressing issues such as antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases etc.
Experts from medical, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, SKIMS, GMC Srinagar, Wild life department and SKUAST-K participated in the panel discussion, emphasizing the importance of close coordination between different departments at various levels to tackle these burning issues.
