Srinagar, Nov 26: Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani on Wednesday said that schools that supplied books from private publishers instead of government-recommended NCERT textbooks will be required to compensate parents. He said those responsible for such violations will face action.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Wani said complaints from parents have been taken seriously and that no school is permitted to prescribe books outside the approved NCERT curriculum. “Those responsible will have to compensate,” he said.
On concerns related to winter transportation fees and other charges, the Director said the matter falls under the purview of the Fee Fixation Committee and parents can register complaints directly with the committee for redressal.
Wani said district-level monitoring committees have been constituted across Kashmir to ensure strict compliance with government regulations in educational institutions. He said field teams are active in every district, and violations will invite action under rules.
The Director added that winter vacations for pre-primary classes have already begun, while holidays for other classes will commence from December 1 as per the announced schedule. [KNT]
