Srinagar, Dec 2: A 28-year-old youth from the border town of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has carved a niche for himself in the field of broadcasting, emerging as one of the most dedicated young radio professionals at Radio Kangan.
RJ Mudasar Parray, known for his friendly nature and energetic on-air presence, has quickly become a household name among listeners in Kangan, Ganderbal, and adjoining areas. His unique ability to stay connected with the community through interactive shows has earned him appreciation from both colleagues and the audience.
In addition to his on-air presence, Mudasar is also serving as the Station Manager at Radio Kangan 88.4 FM community radio, where he oversees the coordination of daily broadcasts, programme planning, and overall station operations. Despite his managerial responsibilities, he continues to host one of the station’s most engaging shows, balancing leadership with active public interaction. His dual role has further strengthened Radio Kangan’s connection with listeners, making him an integral part of the station’s growth and identity.
Officials at Radio Kangan said that Mudasar’s arrival has brought “fresh energy, discipline, and responsibility” to the station, adding that his shows have significantly increased youth listenership and strengthened the station’s outreach in remote areas.
Mudasar hosts multiple programmes focusing on youth engagement, social issues, education, culture, entertainment, and public awareness. His calm presentation, polite tone, and straightforward explanations of various social and developmental topics have made him one of the most appreciated voices on the channel.
While speaking to the reporter, Mudasar said broadcasting was always his childhood dream. He holds a degree in Mass Communication and previously worked as an RJ at Radio Uri 90 FM, where he gained early experience in hosting and production.
Radio gives me the power to communicate directly with people, spread positivity, and create awareness. I feel blessed that Radio Kangan believed in my talent and gave me this platform,” he said.
Listeners across Kangan Sub-division praise him for being approachable, humble, and sincere in highlighting community concerns—whether it’s local grievances, student issues, or awareness about government schemes.
Colleagues describe Mudasar as hardworking, punctual, and highly committed to the craft of radio. His journey from a remote border area to becoming a well-known Radio Jockey is seen as an inspiration for many young Kashmiris aspiring to join the media industry.
With his passion and dedication, RJ Mudasar Parray continues to strengthen the bond between Radio Kangan and its listeners, becoming an influential youth voice in the region.
