Sakeena Itoo holds virtual public darbar with south Kashmir residents

Jammu, Dec 24: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo Wednesday held a virtual public darbar with residents of several areas of South Kashmir districts, reaffirming the Omar Abdullah led Government’s commitment to responsive and people-centric governance.
During the interactive session, the Minister patiently listened to public grievances and developmental concerns raised by participants from various districts of South Kashmir. The participants raised issues related to healthcare facilities, power, drinking water, ration and other basic civic amenities.
While interacting with the participants, the Minister emphasized on the importance of public outreach, highlighting that these public darbars have emerged as an effective tool to bridge the gap between the Government and the people, ensuring transparency, accessibility and swift service delivery, especially in far-flung areas.
During the Darbar, the Minister issued on the spot directions to concerned officers for time-bound redressal of genuine issues. She asked the officers to address grievances in time bound manner, particularly regarding Power and PHE sectors during winters.
The Minister directed the officers of PDD to provide electricity as per the established schedule and also rectify the defects in transformers timely. She also asked the officers to utilise the buffer stock at times when the repairing time of transformers takes more than a day.
On the sidelines of the public darbar, the Minister also e-inaugurated several public welfare projects of significant public importance, aimed at strengthening essential services and improving the quality of life for the local population, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive and sustainable development.
The Minister reiterated that public welfare and grassroots development remain top priorities of the Omar Abdullah led Government and assured the people that their concerns would continue to be addressed with sincerity and accountability.
