Srinagar, Jan 31: National Conference leader Tanvir Sadiq on Saturday said the Jammu and Kashmir administration is working to present a budget focused on public welfare, and called for ensuring the safety of Kashmiris across the country.
NC chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the budget under the present administration would aim to address public needs and provide comfort to people, in line with the party’s commitment.
“Since the day Omar Abdullah has been part of the administration, the focus has been on governance that benefits the people. Even today, the effort is to ease public difficulties,” Sadiq said.
He said issues like electricity, roads and employment opportunities are being seriously considered for the upcoming budget.
On the well-being of Kashmiris outside the Union Territory, Sadiq said all citizens of the country deserve to feel safe and secure wherever they live, work or study.
He urged that the safety of students and professionals from J&K should be ensured by state governments across India, with support from central authorities.
Sadiq was speaking after inaugurating the Karam Shah Bridge in his constituency, a long-pending project which he said will benefit local residents. (KNS)
