Jammu, Feb 3: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit beginning February 5, during which he is expected to review the security situation and hold a series of high-level meetings.
Officials said the Home Minister will interact with the Lieutenant Governor, senior civil administration officials, and top officers of the armed forces and security agencies during his visit. The focus of the meetings is expected to be on the prevailing law and order situation, counter-terror operations, and overall security preparedness in the Union Territory.
The three-day visit will also include detailed briefings by security agencies on the ground situation and ongoing measures to maintain peace and stability. Officials said the Home Minister is likely to assess coordination among various agencies and review future strategy.
This will be Amit Shah’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir this year, and it comes amid heightened political activity and ongoing Assembly proceedings in the Union Territory.
The visit is scheduled to conclude on February 7, with officials stating that necessary security arrangements are being put in place ahead of the Home Minister’s arrival. [KNT]
