Ganderbal, Mar 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) to review and finalize beneficiaries under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP).
At the outset, the committee discussed sector-wise proposals received from various agriculture and allied departments including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and Horticulture Planning and Marketing sectors.
The Committee discussed the submitted proposals in detail and approved 414 beneficiaries aimed at boosting farm productivity, strengthening value chains and improving livelihood opportunities for farmers and allied sector stakeholders in the district.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure that the schemes are implemented in a transparent and time-bound manner so that eligible beneficiaries can avail the benefits without delay. He stressed the importance of proper scrutiny of applications and adherence to guidelines while processing cases.
The DC also asked the departments to intensify awareness among farmers and youth about the schemes so that more eligible individuals can come forward to benefit from the programmes.
He emphasized that the initiatives under HADP and JKCIP are intended to modernize the agriculture sector, promote entrepreneurship in allied sectors and enhance income generation for farming communities.
The meeting was attended by General Manager District Industries Centre, Divisional Forest Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Nodal Officer HADP/JKCIP and Cluster Head J&K Bank, among other concerned officers.
