“Following the incident, Police Station Thanamandi registered a case and initiated investigation. Assessing the sensitivity of the incident, it was transferred to SIA for in depth investigation. During the course of investigation, crucial evidence was recovered from the scene. Statements of key witnesses, were recorded under relevant provisions of law,” said the spokesperson.
He said, it was established during investigations that Sabar Hussain S/o Mohd Rashid R/o Khabalwali, Shahdara Sharief (A/P Chamer, Surankote, District Poonch), has provided shelter, food, and logistical support to three LeT/TRF terrorists at his seasonal hut in Chamer during late June to early July 2024, thereby facilitating the execution of the terror attack.
“Accordingly, prima facie offences under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, have been established against the accused and case stands chargesheeted.”
