M A Shah meets Ashok Koul, discusses developmental issues

Srinagar, May 9: BJP State Executive member and District Panchayat Election Incharge Ganderbal Mohammad Amin Shah held a detailed meeting with BJP General Secretary organisations Ashok Koul at Srinagar to discuss various developmental issues concerning tourism, infrastructure, and employment opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir.
During the interaction, Mohammad Amin Shah strongly emphasized the need for focused development of the renowned high-altitude tourist destinations, Gangbal Lake and Nundkol Lake, which are known for their breathtaking natural beauty and immense tourism potential. He highlighted that these destinations attract trekkers, tourists, and nature enthusiasts from across the country and abroad, but still require better infrastructure and government attention to unlock their full potential.
He urged the authorities to take concrete measures for improving road connectivity, trekking routes, sanitation facilities, accommodation infrastructure, waste management systems, and basic amenities for visitors. Shah stated that proper development of these tourist spots would not only strengthen Kashmir’s tourism sector but would also create sustainable employment and livelihood opportunities for local youth associated with tourism, transport, hospitality, and related sectors.
Mohammad Amin Shah further said that promoting eco-tourism and adventure tourism in the Gangbal and Nundkol region can significantly contribute towards economic growth in the area while preserving its natural heritage. He stressed that local communities should be actively involved in tourism-related initiatives so that the benefits directly reach the people living in nearby villages.
Ashok Koul appreciated the concerns and suggestions raised during the meeting and reiterated the party’s commitment towards balanced regional development, promotion of tourism, and empowerment of local communities across Jammu & Kashmir.
